industry update Blue Cow Software hires former energy business owner Ferrellgas promotes legal team leader to COO perspectives with current and potential customers F errellgas named Trent Hampton as its COO He joined its general partner in 2001 as corporate counsel He was promoted to director of the legal department in hampton 2006 and vice president of legal and risk management as well as corporate secretary in 2008 In 2013 he was promoted to senior vice president of legal and risk management Hampton also joined the executive committee in 2017 In addition to the legal and risk management departments Hampton is responsible for several administrative departments including safety human resources information technology acquisitions procurement and asset management and real estate hellers gas owner built up the business P aul Gardner owner of Hellers Gas died on May 18 at the age of 64 He had been battling brain cancer for about a year Prior to buying Hellers Gas Gardner worked for many years at Pargas and Suburban Propane in sales and management He purchased Hellers Gas a family owned company in Wapwallopen Pennsylvania in 1986 and grew the business into one of the largest familyowned propane companies in Pennsylvania Hellers Gas now has nine branches in Pennsylvania and Maryland Gardner served for many years on the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association board of directors His three sons Joe Gardner John Gardner and Paul Gardner Jr are all involved in the business Paul Jr is set to take over the reins of the company B lue Cow Software expanded its sales team by hiring Ralph Mills as an account manager Mills brings over 20 years of industry experience and knowledge to Blue Cow Software He owned an energy business in New York and has over six years of experience using Blue Cow Softwares products at his company the company says Blue Cow Software looks forward to Mills sharing his business 12 LPGas July 2018 LPGasmagazine com
